My Case Privacy Policy
Last updated August 15, 2026. My Case is a private case-prep tool for verified school-email users. It is as much a case tracker as a case-interview platform: it records the practice you do, whether that practice happens over video on My Case or face to face in a room. This page explains what information the site uses and how it is handled.
Information We Collect
We collect account information such as your email address, password hash, verification status, and login session data. If you choose to use Google or LinkedIn sign-in, we receive the verified email address and basic profile information provided by that provider, such as name and profile photo.
Profile And Case Activity
If you use My Case Log, we store the profile fields and private notes you enter. We also record which cases you view, open, or download so your personal case history can be shown back to you. Because My Case is a case tracker as well as a practice platform, we record the sessions you complete, the ratings and recap feedback exchanged in them, and your drill results — including sessions you mark as taking place in person rather than over video. An in-person session is logged the same way a video session is; My Case captures no camera or microphone data for it. These notes and activity records are private to your account except as described below.
How We Use Information
We use this information to authenticate users, enforce school-email access rules, provide search and case-viewing features, maintain your personal case log, prevent abuse, and operate the service.
We also use it to help us help you — and to help other students learn and practise the material better. Your practice history, ratings and drill results tell us which cases to recommend to you next, which areas you have not covered, which cases and drills are working well for students generally, and where the case library needs improvement. Wherever this work involves other students it is done in aggregate, and standings are shown as percentiles rather than as counts or named lists. We do not sell personal information.
Your School
My Case works with schools, and some of the cases you practise are created and managed by your school rather than by My Case. Where that is so, your school decides what that material contains and who at the school may maintain it.
Signing up with a school email links your account to that school. People your school designates as school leaders — for example a career centre or a student club that runs case prep — get a view of how practice is going at their school. Today that view shows the average standing of each group as a percentile. It does not name individual students, show individual results, or report how many people are in a group. Your private notes and the recap feedback exchanged inside a session are never shown to a school leader.
If your school's use of My Case changes what leaders can see, we will say so here before it takes effect.
Third-Party Services
My Case may use service providers for hosting, email delivery, file storage, analytics, and OAuth sign-in. Google or LinkedIn sign-in is optional; those providers process your login according to their own privacy policies.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app, or at /account/delete on the web. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. It permanently erases your email address, name, photo, bio, school, graduation year, linked Google and LinkedIn identities, push notification tokens, recordings, drill history, queues and every active sign-in on every device. Because practice is one-to-one, the sessions you took part in, the recap feedback and ratings exchanged in them, and your case helpfulness votes remain so the other participant does not lose their own history; your identity is removed from them and they show as “Deleted user”.
